SherrieFirst acrylic painting in first art class, Junior year of HS. 2001/2002portrait. I threw this painting away and my art teacher dug it out of the trash and entered it into the Scholastic Art Show. It proceeded to win a Gold Key. Kind of a big wake up call when I received this big award in front of my entire school. This little “Mona Lisa” was was the catalyst that turned me onto art. I had spent seven years previously in all select girls jazz choir. This painting, in retrospect was a big move.
